Woodforest Online Services offers you additional security options and tools to better protect your online sessions.  Helping to safeguard your online banking and personal data continues to be our top priority.

Authenticators are available as an alternative to setting up security questions and answers when logging into Online Services.  After you log into Online Services, go to the Service Center and select Manage Mobile Authentication.  You will be instructed to download the authentication application for your smart phone or tablet, add your unique authenticator key, and verify the generated authenticator code.  Once you have set up authenticator, you will be prompted to enter the displayed authenticator code whenever you are challenged upon login for security verification.

Authenticator is an optional security application and is not required at this time. You may remove authenticator at any time and revert back to answering security questions. 

Quicken and QuickBooks Users:  Authenticator is not compatible with Quicken and QuickBooks at this time.  Please do NOT install an authenticator if you use Quicken or QuickBooks.

What is a mobile authenticator?

An authenticator is a security application you can download and install onto your smart phone or tablet.  An authenticator may be used as an optional alternative to traditional security questions and answers required when logging into Online Services or performing certain transactions (also know as Security Challenges or second factor authentication).  Once installed, the authenticator application will replace your security questions.  

How does an authenticator work when logging into Online Services?

You must download the authenticator application onto your mobile device.  Once enabled, the authenticator application will generate a unique, random code.  You must open the authenticator application on your mobile device to retrieve the code, and enter this code when prompted for the Security Challenge.  You will no longer need to answer a security question.

How often will I be prompted to enter my authenticator code when logging into Online Services?

When using authenticator, you will be prompted to enter your authenticator code each time you log into Online Services.

How do I enable an authenticator for Woodforest Online Services?

Once you have logged into Woodforest Online Services, navigate to the Service Center, select Manage Mobile Authenticator, and follow the steps below.

  1. Install the authenticator application by following the instructions displayed for your mobile device.

  2. Add your unique authenticator key by either opening the authenticator application and scanning the displayed barcode, or enter the Manual Key displayed.

  3. Verify your current code displayed on the authenticator applicaton on your mobile device by entering it into the Online Services Current Authenticator Code field.

Can I use authenticator on multiple devices?

Yes you can install authenticator on multiple devices.  Once you have downloaded authenticator to another device, visit the Security Center > Manage Mobile Authenticator to retrieve the barcode or manual key to install it.

What if I have multiple online banking profiles? Can I use the same authenticator?

Yes but you must sign in with each online banking user profile to install authenticator for that user profile.  When you open your authenticator application, you will see all profiles you have installed.  Use the code displayed for the online profile under which you are currently signed in for your Security Challenge.

How do I remove authenticator?

Visit Manage Mobile Authenticator and follow the instructions to remove authenticator from your Online Services account by entering the current code displayed in the authenticator application.

What if my mobile device is lost or stolen?

Contact Customer Care at 1-877-968-7962 for assistance.  Customer Care can remove authenticator from your Online Services profile, restoring your security questions and answers when logging into Online Services.

What if I don't have my mobile device with me and I need to log into Online Services?

Contact Customer Care at 1-877-968-7962 for assistance.  Customer Care can remove authenticator from your Online Services profile, restoring your security questions and answers as your Security Challenge when logging into Online Services. You may reinstall authenticator at any time.

Can I use an authenticator if I use Quicken or QuickBooks?

No.  At this time authenticator is not compatible with Quicken or QuickBooks.  Please do NOT install an authenticator if you use Quicken or QuickBooks.

What if I have installed an authenticator and I already have Quicken or QuickBooks?

You may remove authenticator by visiting the Security Center > Manage Mobile Authenticator.

What if I am enabled to use text message authentication for Online Services as well as authenticator?

Authenticator will always prompt you to enter an authenticator code.  If you have both text message authentication and an authenticator enabled, you will be prompted to enter your authenticator code when prompted for the Security Challenge.

How do I retrieve the authenticator code upon Security Challenge?

Open the authenticator application on your mobile device. The current code displays.  Enter this code into the Authenticator Code field on the Security Challenge page.  Note that authenticator codes are time based and will refresh typically after a 30 second timeframe.  

You can setup your mobile phone to receive one time codes used to verify your identity when logging into Online Services or performing certain transactions.   After you log into Online Services, go to the Service Center and select Manage Text Message Authentication.  Once you verify the mobile phone number for which to receive text messages, you will receive one time codes for your Security Challenge (second factor authentication) when required.  Text message authentication is an optional feature and is not required at this time.  You can remove phone numbers that have been enabled for this feature at any time and revert back to answering security questions or receiving activation codes from your email address.

Quicken and QuickBooks Users:  Text message authentication is not compatible with Quicken and QuickBooks at this time.  Please do NOT enable text message authentication if you use Quicken or QuickBooks.

What is text message authentication?

Text message authentication allows you to set up your mobile phone number to receive one-time codes when logging into Online Services or performing certain transactions (also known as Security Challenges or second factor authentication), and replaces security questions and answers.  One-time codes sent via text messages are a more secure alternative to security questions or activity codes delivered to your email.

How does text message authentication work?

You must enable a mobile phone number to be eligible for text message authentication by logging into Online Services and going to the Service Center > Manage Text Message Authentication.  Once you have verified an eligible phone number for text message authentication, a code will be sent to your mobile phone whenever you are prompted for the Security Challenge.

Am I required to use text message authentication?

Text message authentication is an optional feature and is not required at this time.  You may remove text message authentication at any time and revert back to answering security questions. 

How do I remove text message authentication?

Visit the Security Center > Manage Text Message Authentication and delete the mobile phone number displayed as Enabled for Text Message Authentication.

How can I opt-out of text message authentication if I'm not logged into Online Services?

To opt-out at any time, send STOP to MYWNB (69962).

What if I have several mobile phone numbers enabled for text message authentication?

You will be prompted to select which contact point (mobile phone number) to send the challenge code to from your list of enabled phone numbers.

Can I use text message authentication if I use Quicken or QuickBooks?

No. At this time text message authentication is not compatible with Quicken or QuickBooks.  Please do NOT enable text message authentication if you use Quicken or QuickBooks.

What if I have enabled text message authentication and I already have Quicken or QuickBooks?

You may remove text message authentication by visiting the Security Center > Manage Text Message Authentication.

You may modify the frequency that you will be issued security challenges during the login process by selecting Manage Challenge Frequency from the Service Center.  Woodforest Online Services will continue to challenge you for second factor authentication during the login process if we determine it is necessary for your security.

The following challenge frequency options are available to you.

System Default - This is the Woodforest Online Services default that challenges you anytime we feel it is necessary for your security.

On Every Login - You may select to be challenged each time you log into Online Services, even if we recognize the device you are logging in from.

On Every Login + Do Not Remember My Devices - You may select to be challenged each time you log into Online Services AND we will not remember what device you are logging in from for future Online Services Sessions.

Only Unrecognized Devices or Risky Locations - You will only be challenged anytime you log into Online Services from a previously unused device or a location outside your normal banking profile.
